NBS Reaffirms Its Commitment to Strong Internal Controls with Successful SOC Audits

Accountability and integrity are foundational to how NBS operates, influencing everything from system design to risk management to client service. In keeping with those values, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of our SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits for the 2025 calendar year.

These independent audits were conducted by a third‑party CPA firm and provide assurance that our internal controls continue to operate effectively. The SOC 1 audit focuses on controls relevant to our clients’ financial reporting, while the SOC 2 audit evaluates our controls related to security and system availability under the AICPA’s trust services criteria. Both examinations were performed as Type 2 audits, meaning they assess not just design, but operating effectiveness over an extended period of time.

Completing these audits is not a once‑a‑year exercise for NBS. It reflects an ongoing effort to strengthen our processes, enhance system security, and proactively manage risk as our organization and technology continue to evolve. Regular third‑party validation helps ensure that our controls keep pace with industry expectations and our clients’ needs.

In recent years, cybersecurity and operational resilience have become increasingly important topics across the benefits industry. Our SOC reports demonstrate that NBS continues to align with recognized best practices, including guidance issued by the U.S. Department of Labor, and reinforces our focus on protecting sensitive data and maintaining reliable systems.

Trust is foundational to every partnership we build. Successfully completing our SOC examinations is one of the many ways we work to earn and maintain that trust through transparency, discipline, and continuous improvement.
